On Kailani’s upper left arm is a tattoo dedicated to her husband, Mark, and their union. It is a lion/lioness with a crown and plumeria’s (their favorite Hawaiian flower) at the base.  One half of the lion is a male and the other half female.

On her left hand are two rows that represent her ancestry: her DNA is 70% African from the regions of Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, Western Bantu, Benin, Togo, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Mali. Her other ethnicities are: the First Nations people of Shawnee (Kailani is the 8th great granddaughter of Chief Temcuseh; prominent Chief, Warrior, Orator, and Resistor), England & Northwestern Europe, Germanic Europe, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden.

On her left forearm, her tattoo symbolizes her life story and includes her parents, her spouses, her two sons, her grandchildren, and pivotal moments of her life.
