Dear Soul Dope Community, lets get Visioning Together!
As we embark on a new year, it’s time to reflect on our visions and plans for the journey ahead. While many people set resolutions, these often lose momentum. Instead, I recommend an ongoing practice of visioning—a powerful tool that helps clarify our goals and align our thoughts and actions.
What Is Visioning?
Visioning is about creating a detailed mental image of what you want to achieve. It engages all your senses to make your vision as vivid as possible. By doing this, you bring clarity to your aspirations and take active steps toward manifesting your desired future.
Visioning vs. Dreams, Resolutions, and Goals
- Visioning: A clear, compelling mental image of your future that guides your goals and actions.
- Dreams: Subconscious desires or aspirations that inspire us but need visioning and goal-setting to become reality.
- Resolutions: Decisions to change a behavior or achieve a specific outcome, often lacking the depth and clarity of visioning.
- Goals: SMART targets (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) that help you achieve your vision.
The Power of Intention with Visioning
Setting intentions is more than a fleeting thought—it’s a conscious decision to focus your energy on a specific outcome. When we set intentions, we align ourselves with our deepest desires and open up to new possibilities. But staying focused isn’t always easy. Past failures, negative core beliefs, and overwhelming life experiences can tether us to the past.
I understand this struggle. My parents’ divorce when I was ten had a profound effect on me. Food became a comfort, and by my early teens, I struggled with my weight. Hurtful comments from my father only deepened my emotional wounds, and by adulthood, I weighed 365 pounds with serious health complications.
A Personal Journey of Healing
At 43, I faced my food issues head-on, starting with a monitored 30-day fast. Through years of soul healing, I lost 100 pounds and changed my relationship with food. Despite ongoing health challenges, I embraced healthier habits and a mindset of wellness. Visioning helped me stay focused on what I wanted to achieve.
Embrace Visioning to Manifest Your Dreams
Life has its ups and downs, but we have the power to shape our destinies. Visioning, combined with intention setting, helps us navigate challenges and stay aligned with our goals. Remember, you have the power to create the life you desire.
How to Create a Vision Board
Let’s talk about creating a vision board. Think of your goals as seeds you plant in the garden of your mind. A vision board is like sunlight and water, helping those seeds grow into beautiful flowers. It’s a collage of images, words, and affirmations that symbolize your aspirations.
Step 1: Understanding Vision Boards
Start by visualizing your goal and writing it down. Use magazines or online images to find words and visuals that inspire you. Your vision board is a personal masterpiece, so let your imagination soar!
Step 2: Choosing Meaningful Materials & Images
Your vision board should reflect all aspects of your life—physical and mental health, personal growth, relationships, career, and adventure. Each image or word you choose should spark joy and excitement.
Make 2025 Your Year of Manifestation
As we enter 2025, let’s focus on clarity, purpose, and manifestation. Visioning, intention setting, and using a vision board can help you stay aligned with your goals. Remember, this is your journey to shape and create the future you desire.
