Hailing from Flint, Michigan, Baru’s roots are deeply intertwined with the city’s pulsating rhythm. Guided by his mother’s influence in the church, music ignited his passion from an early age. At just seven, he found himself entranced by the drums, infusing Sunday services with infectious beats.
By the age of sixteen, Baru and his school friends coalesced into the band Fo-Deep, igniting local talent shows with their youthful fervor. Fueled by ambitious dreams, they established their own music production entity, The Brothers Deep Organization.
Life took on new dimensions as Baru entered adulthood. Balancing his musical aspirations with managerial duties at a restaurant, he was thrust into fatherhood at twenty-one and embraced matrimony with his high school sweetheart, Sheila, at twenty-five, expanding their brood to a joyful crew of five.
Navigating through diverse career paths, Baru eventually reunited with a former bandmate to venture into the realm of carpet cleaning and janitorial services. Over a decade, their enterprise flourished, catering to businesses across Flint.

As she learned more about the industry and the art and science that accompanied it, she fell in love. Within a year of graduating cosmetology school and obtaining her cosmetology license, she immediately received her license as an instructor and later her license in Natural Hair Cultivation.
